FL-UX 2.30.0 release notes

Communication features come to the iPad, Mac and Windows apps, and the Mac app can run local and live camera streaming without FL-UX Anywhere or Docker.

Everything up to the iPhone and Android section applies to the iPad, Mac and Windows apps. Items marked (Mac only) are only in the Mac app.

Communication features now on computers and tablets

  • The communication features, until now only in the smartphone app, are now available on computers and tablets too.
  • Channels are listed by category.
  • You can see all the activity in a channel as a list.
  • The home screen shows new comments and mentions addressed to you. If there is nothing new, a short message tells you so.
  • The Video tab lists your videos. You can open folders level by level to narrow the list.

Local streaming built into FL-UX (Mac only)

  • Until now, sharing data and video with other devices on the same network needed a separate app, FL-UX Anywhere, plus Docker. You can now stream straight from FL-UX. No Docker setup is needed.
  • In the settings menu, go to FL-UX Local Streaming and press Start local streaming. The Mac switches to streaming mode, and devices on the same network can watch the matches and videos saved on that Mac. Press Stop local streaming to go back to normal mode.
  • To connect another device, enter the address and connection code under FL-UX Mac Connection in its settings menu, or simply scan the QR code shown on the streaming Mac.
  • While streaming or connected, the screen changes so you can always see which mode you are in.

Good to know

  • The old FL-UX Offline App connection field has been removed from the settings menu. Please use local streaming from now on. (The old FL-UX Anywhere app can still be used alongside it for the time being.)
  • A Mac that is running local streaming does not show cloud data.
  • A device connected to local streaming does not show the matches and playlists it had downloaded itself. This keeps them from mixing with the streaming Mac’s data.
  • Before you can start streaming, you need to run Download Master Data for Offline from the settings menu.

Live stream your camera on the spot (Mac only)

  • Camera video coming in through a capture card can be streamed in real time to devices on the same network. Use Local Live Streaming in the match card menu. You can keep filming while others tag and analyze on another device.
  • Video resolution now goes up to 1920×1080 (Full HD). Before, video was scaled down to 960×540, so the picture is now much sharper. If the captured video is smaller than this, it is streamed at its own size without being stretched. Video that is not 16:9 is also no longer stretched out of shape.
  • Choose High quality or Standard quality. Both use the same resolution; only the amount of data sent over the network changes. At venues with a busy network, Standard quality helps reduce the load.
  • Select an audio device to stream with sound. If you don’t, only the video is streamed.
  • The streamed video is saved as the match video. Once you are back online, you can upload it to the cloud.

Real-time Download for live-streamed matches (Mac only)

  • You can now use Real-time Download on a match that is being live streamed. The video is copied to your device while you watch, so playback can switch between the network and the copy on your device depending on signal strength.

Check connection problems yourself (Mac only)

  • Check Connection Status shows whether streaming is visible on the network, how many devices are connected, and a history of devices that have connected.
  • It shows whether connection attempts are actually reaching this Mac. This helps you tell whether the problem is the network or security software blocking it.
  • It detects and lists installed security software, and tells you when you need to allow the connection.

Countdown match clocks

  • For sports where the match clock counts down, scene event times are now shown as time remaining.
  • This applies to the video playback screen, the upload screen, home screen activity and CSV export.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where deleting the “last score” in a match being worked on offline did not remove the score, and it stayed on the server even after sync.
  • Fixed an issue in multi-angle on Mac where a Tracking Sketch created while viewing an angle other than Main was saved to the Main angle.

FL-UX for iPhone / Android

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where, in some playlists, videos did not start playing automatically, or buttons for adding to a playlist or creating a new one did not respond.

FL-UX Management 1.22.0

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where some matches did not appear in the video list.
