Getting started
How do I start a free trial?
Click Start Free Trial on any page of this site and fill in the short form to create your account. You get 30 days free, with no credit card needed, before you need to subscribe.
Can I get a second free trial?
No, the free trial is one per person. If you already used it (or used FL-UX in the past), you can reactivate your existing account with a subscription from the billing portal.
Which devices does FL-UX work on?
All major web browsers, plus macOS, Windows, iPadOS, iOS and Android. Up-to-date download links are on the download page.
Good to know: Player Tracking only works in the macOS desktop app on a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), and Offline Mode only works in the iPad and Mac apps.
Which browser should I use?
Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. We don't recommend Safari: some people get video playback issues on it.
Where can I learn how to use FL-UX?
- Tutorial videos: short lessons, one per feature.
- User Manual: full step-by-step guides with screenshots.
Will someone help me get started?
Yes, in a few ways. We have an online manual and a library of very short tutorial videos, one per feature:
On top of that, teams, clubs and enterprises get a dedicated person from our staff to help them get set up.
Does FL-UX work for sports other than football?
Yes. Tags are fully customizable, so you can build your own tagging for any sport. For example, in basketball, a chain like "missed three, offensive rebound, made two" can be tagged by setting up your tags and options the right way. Not sure how to structure yours? Get in touch and we'll help.
Which camera or gimbal should I use?
Any camera or gimbal works, as long as you can upload the video file or stream from the app. Models that save the video straight to your phone or tablet are the easiest. Cameras that store footage in their own cloud (some AI cameras, for example) can take a while to export it as a video file.
Account and login
What's a login ID?
A unique identifier for your account. To log in you can use either your email or your login ID: both work.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click Forgot your password? on the login page, or use the direct reset link. Once it's reset, you can go to the billing portal to subscribe and reactivate your account if needed.
How do I change my password when I'm already logged in?
Click the three dots ("...") in the top right corner and go to My Page.
I can't find my old account. What do I do?
Try the reset link with any email you might have used for FL-UX. If an account exists, you'll get an email. If nothing arrives within 24 hours, the account most likely no longer exists, and you can simply create a new one. Still stuck? Contact us and we'll look into it.
Plans, pricing and billing
How much does FL-UX cost?
Everything is on the pricing page, in EUR and USD: Pro and Elite plans (monthly or annual), extra analyst seats, viewer packs and extra video hours.
Which currency will I be billed in?
What's the difference between Pro and Elite?
Pro is enough for a team or just for yourself. It covers most of what you need for pre-game and post-game analysis, including unlimited tagging and telestration (drawing on the video).
Elite does all that and adds:
- 1080p Full HD for streaming and export
- live streaming and real-time tagging
- a custom tagging board
- advanced analysis
- Offline Mode (iPad and Mac apps)
- Player Tracking (Mac with Apple Silicon)
See the full plan comparison.
Pro or Elite: which one should I pick?
If you only do pre-game and post-game analysis and don't need HD image, Pro is plenty.
Go Elite if you do live analysis: you stream the game straight into FL-UX, the bench and the analyst can talk during the game, and you get instant replay. Elite also gives you more tools for better highlight videos (Player Tracking, advanced analysis) and lets you work offline, even on a local network at the stadium.
Monthly or annual plan?
Two differences:
- Annual gives you 2 months free.
- Video hours are more flexible on annual. You get 120 hours of upload for the whole year and use them whenever you want (for example 50 hours in the first month and the rest later). On monthly you're capped at 10 hours per month.
Do you offer discounts?
Annual plans already include 2 months free. For anything bigger (clubs, federations, academies), talk to us.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Credit card, through the billing portal. Bank transfer is only available for clubs and enterprise solutions.
Can I pay in installments?
We don't offer payment plans for individual accounts. If you need to split the cost, the monthly plan is the way to go.
How do I subscribe or reactivate my account?
Log in to the billing portal and pick a plan. The subscribe button is at the bottom of the page.
How do I update my payment method?
In the Account Management page of the billing portal.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Account Management in the billing portal and open your subscription management. The cancel option there is called Delete Account.
Users, sharing and privacy
How many users can I have on my account?
The base price covers 1 user, but you can add as many as you need (5, 10, even 100) on the same account. Extra analyst seats and viewer packs are listed on the pricing page.
What's the difference between an Analyst and a Viewer?
An Analyst has the same rights as the admin: upload videos, clip scenes, tag, sketch, create channels and playlists, export, comment and see everything on the account.
A Viewer (made for players or parents) can watch videos and shared clips, listen to voice notes, comment, join the scene chat and create short clips to ask questions.
Can a Viewer upload videos or stream live?
Yes, if an admin allows it. In Menu ("...") > Users & Team > FL-UX Users, the admin ticks Video upload for that user, and they can then upload videos and stream live. If someone can't see the upload button, ask your admin to check this setting.
How do I invite my staff or players?
Menu ("...") > Invite new user to FL-UX. You can invite by email or generate a registration link to share. Pick Analyst (coaches, full rights) or Viewer (players, view and chat by default).
Then approve them: Menu ("...") > Users & Team > FL-UX Users, under Users Waiting for Authorization. This is a security step: because the registration link can be shared, an admin checks who is joining before they get access.
Heads up: the invited person has to accept and an admin has to approve within 3 days, otherwise the invitation link expires. See User Management for every step.
What's the difference between a channel and a direct channel?
A channel works like a group chat: you pick the members and share videos and scenes with that group only. A direct channel is one to one, for sharing videos and talking with a single person.
Videos: upload, storage and quality
Does FL-UX provide match videos?
No. FL-UX is a video analysis platform, not a video library. You upload your own footage, and nobody else can add videos to your account.
How do I upload my matches?
Straight from the platform. Follow the Upload Video guide, or watch the quick tutorial.
Which video formats can I upload? Is there a size limit?
MP4, MOV and MTS. MP4 and MOV have no file size limit. MTS files are capped at 20 GB. If an upload takes more than 3 hours, FL-UX stops it, so use a fast connection for big files.
How many hours of video can I upload?
By default 10 hours of upload and 2 hours of export per month. On annual contracts it's 120 hours of upload and 24 hours of export for the whole year. You can add more hours at any time in the billing portal.
Do unused hours roll over to the next month?
No. Video hours only count for the current billing period, on monthly and annual plans alike. Whatever is left at the end is gone, and extra hours you buy don't carry over either. Annual is simply more flexible during the year.
I deleted videos. Why didn't I get my upload hours back?
Upload hours count the total footage you uploaded, so deleting a video doesn't give them back. If you're at the limit, you can buy more upload time.
Do failed uploads count toward my upload hours?
No. An upload that fails halfway isn't counted in your upload hours.
How long are my videos kept?
1 year (365 days) from the upload date on standard contracts. For longer storage, you need the extended storage option.
Can I get all my uploaded footage back out of FL-UX?
No, there's no feature to export the full footage you uploaded. Always keep a backup of your original files.
Can I import a video from YouTube?
Not directly. If you have the original video file, upload that to FL-UX.
Can I rotate a video after uploading it?
No. Rotate the video on your computer or phone first (landscape is best), then upload it again. When you film with a phone, we recommend shooting in landscape.
How do I upload a multi-angle game when the halves are in separate files?
Multi-angle has a single sync point, so if you join the halves of the second angle into one file, the halftime length won't match the main video and one of the halves will be out of sync. Two ways around it: join the files so the halftime duration matches, or create one multi-angle entry for the first half and another for the second half, and upload each video to its own entry.
What happens to my scenes and playlists if I delete a video?
The scenes made from that video are deleted too, and they disappear from your playlists. This can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep before deleting the video.
How do I raise the video quality?
Three dots ("...") top right > App Settings > Quality. It only applies to videos uploaded after you change it. 1080p Full HD requires Elite.
How do I turn on the video sound?
The speaker icon and volume slider are bottom-left, right under the player. Click the speaker to unmute.
How do I organize the video cards on my home screen?
Use Training type as a filter. Create your training types in the three dots top right > Competition & team setup > Training type setup. For videos already uploaded, click the three dots on the video card > Video Information and set the training type.
Video playback is slow or choppy. What should I check?
It's usually the connection. Run a speed test with a service such as speed.cloudflare.com, and compare with your usual speed. As a rule of thumb you need about 3 Mbps at minimum. Also check whether videos play fine in other apps like YouTube, and whether everyone on the same Wi-Fi has the issue (if so, it's the network). Make sure you're on the latest version of the app, or on Chrome or Edge in a browser.
Tagging, clips, sketching and exports
Why can't I see my players when I tag a match?
Set up your players first: Menu > Competition & team setup > Player & team setup, and create your roster, jersey numbers and positions. Also make sure you picked MATCH (not Practice) when you created the video entry.
If I delete a category, tag or option, do I lose my scenes?
No. Your scenes are safe and the tag info attached to them stays.
What's the difference between "Start-End" and "Point" mode?
In Start-End you click when the play starts and when it ends, so you capture the build-up and the tactical context. In Point mode, one click on a tag creates a clip with a default fixed length (for example 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after your click).
Can I open the video and the tagging panel in different windows?
Yes. Go full screen, press S to pop up the tagging window, then move the windows anywhere you want, even on different screens.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
Video (normal and full screen)
KorSpace: stop / startJ: rewindL: fast forwardH: skip backward;: skip forwardG: previous scene:: next scene- Left arrow: frame backward
- Right arrow: frame forward
Enter: register sceneA: switch angle (multi-angle videos only)
Full screen only: S shows the Tagging/Sketch panel, Esc exits full screen.
Tagging panel: players = P + jersey number. Options = Shift + option number (if you have 10 or more options, only the first 9 get a shortcut). Event buttons: assign your own keys. See Shortcut Keys.
My custom shortcut keys disappeared. Can I get them back?
No, sorry. Shortcut settings are saved in your browser, not on our servers, so they can't be restored and you'll have to set them again. They get wiped when you clear cookies and site data or run a cleaner tool, and they don't carry over to another computer, another Chrome profile or an incognito window.
Can I draw curved arrows or curved pass lines?
Yes. Draw a straight line with the Line, Arrow or Movement tool, select it, then drag the dot in the middle to bend it into an arc. Video tutorial.
Can I record my voice over a drawing?
Yes. In the Sketch tab, press and hold the microphone (Record Voice) button and talk over your drawing, like a WhatsApp voice note. When you export or share, your voice plays in sync with the sketch.
Can I track players automatically?
Yes, with Player Tracking. It requires an Elite subscription and the macOS desktop app on a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are too slow for it, and we recommend 16 GB of RAM or more. Player Tracking is no longer available on iPad.
How it works:
- Under the footage (the area with the telestration icons), click the "..." button and select Start-End + tracking.
- Set the length of the video you want to track.
- Choose how you want to create your dynamic player telestration: mark, position line or zone.
- Click Validate, then end the scene to complete the clip.
More in the Player Tracking guide.
What's a playlist?
It's where you do the final edit of clips (tags and/or sketches) coming from several videos. You can add titles and subtitles, add an image and reorder the clips before exporting.
Can I add title slides or my club logo between clips?
Yes. Open your Playlist, click Edit, then Insert Title. Type a title, set how long it shows (for example 3 seconds), or upload an image such as your club logo or a tactical diagram.
Can I export clips with my drawings and text?
Yes. Pro and Elite can both export individual clips or whole playlists with sketches and text overlays.
One limit: text made in the Sketch tool exports fine (that's the "static" text shown when the footage stops). Text added with the Subtitles function, which plays while the footage is moving, can't be exported and only works inside FL-UX.
What's the difference between downloading and exporting?
Downloading is for Offline Mode (Elite, iPad and Mac apps): you save the video on your device to work without internet. Exporting means saving clips or a playlist as an .mp4 file to share or keep as a backup.
My export fails or freezes. What can I do?
Usually it's a browser memory limit. Try this: select your scenes, click Add to Playlist, open the Playlist and click Export Playlist as Single File.
I get an "Export Error". What's wrong?
Two usual causes:
- A scene has an unsaved sketch. Open that scene's edit screen with the sketch displayed and save it again, then export. No need to delete the scene. A shaky connection can make a sketch fail to save.
- A scene is very long (around 3 hours, for example). The file gets too big to export, so shorten the scene and try again.
Live analysis and offline (Elite)
How do I stream a live game?
Live streaming needs Elite. You can record and stream live straight into FL-UX with any RTMP-compatible camera (directly or through OBS Studio), or with your smartphone or iPad using the FL-UX app.
With a camera: create a new Match entry, go to Menu ("...") > Broadcast, and wait for FL-UX to generate your RTMP Server URL and Stream Key. Paste them in your camera's broadcast settings (or in OBS Studio) and start streaming. Step by step: Set Up a Live Stream.
How do I give halftime feedback to players?
The analyst tags live with the Real-Time Tagging board, and the feed goes to the cloud with under 20 seconds of delay. The coach on the bench opens the FL-UX iPad app, picks the match and plays the tagged clips right away, no need to wait for the post-game upload.
Can I work offline?
Yes, with Elite, in the iPad and Mac apps. While online, click the download icon on the matches you want (up to 50). Then tag, clip and sketch offline. Back on Wi-Fi, click the red dot on the match thumbnail and select Synchronize to push your work to the cloud. See Offline Mode.
Talk to a human
Can I talk to someone from the team?
Sure. Send your question through the contact form, with the email you use for FL-UX, and we'll take it from there. We usually reply within two business days.
Something isn't working. Can you help?
Yes. To help us fix it faster, tell us in the contact form:
- whether you have an active FL-UX account (and the email you use),
- what you see, step by step,
- the device and browser or app you're using.
If a screenshot would help, we'll ask for it when we reply.
Do you offer tagging services?
Yes. Tell us what you need and we'll get back to you with the details.
